Diane Carol Unocic
Diane Carol Unocic was a woman of warmth, devotion, and quiet strength. Born in Ohio and raised in the Maple Heights community, she carried with her the grounded, hardworking spirit of the Midwest throughout her entire life. Among her fondest memories were the years she spent on Kelleys Island, a place whose unhurried pace and natural beauty seemed to reflect something essential in her character.
It was a blind date that changed everything — the evening she met Anthony Frank Unocic, the man who would become her husband, her partner, and her home. Together they built a life, first in Boulder, Colorado, and later in Longmont, where they put down roots and made a place that was genuinely theirs.
While Anthony Frank Unocic served the community through the Boulder County Sheriff's Department, Diane Carol Unocic brought her own steady contribution to Boulder Memorial Hospital, working in medical records with the same careful attention she gave everything in her life. When she later stepped away from that work to become a full-time homemaker, it was not a retreat — it was a choice made with purpose. She believed that taking care of the person you love is its own kind of calling, and she answered it fully.
In the kitchen, Diane was in her element. The Food Network played in the background like a soundtrack to her days, and she approached every new recipe as a small adventure. The meals she made were how she showed love — carefully prepared, generously given.
Diane Carol Unocic and Anthony Frank Unocic were devoted to one another for over fifty years. She was his partner in every sense of the word, and the life they shared in Colorado was a testament to what two people can build when they choose each other completely.
She is gone, but she is not forgotten. This page exists because she mattered — and because the people who love us deserve to be remembered for exactly who they were.
